TSG 1895 USA™ Co-Hosts Event to Celebrate First Anniversary of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur and 100 years of Luxury Sports Car Manufacturer Aston Martin During 2013 Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race
LOS ANGELES, October 9, 2013—The Secret Garden (TSG 1895 USA™)– creator of artisan-crafted Tiffany style gemstone lamps, brass lamp bases, and framed backlit gemstone hanging wall art – co-hosted an event to celebrate the first anniversary of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur (AMKL) and 100 years of luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin during the 2013 Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER). The MMER, which took place at the Sepang International Circuit, a 5.543-kilometer track in Selangor, Malaysia, from August 29-September 1, 2013, is one of Malaysia’s most prestigious international events and the top racing event in Asia.
Introduced in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium and coincide with Merdeka, a national holiday on August 31st that commemorates Malaysia’s independence, the MMER has become a world-class 12-hour endurance race—attracting top drivers from Europe and Asia, including Karamjit Singh, Jimmy Low, Keifli Othman, and Adam Lokman.
With its Asia headquarters and a luxury showroom in Kuala Lumpur, TSG 1895 USA™ joined Esquire Magazine Malaysia, Bang and Olufsen in co-hosting the celebration to mark the one-year anniversary of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur. Attendees included members of The Craft Racing Team representing Aston Martin – Alain Li, Ricard Lyons, and Frank Yu – as well as a range of local celebrities, including Ms. Chelsia Ng, a local singer-actress and Ms. Carol Lee, 2013 Mrs. Universe.
The 2013 MMER featured 78 teams from around the world – including first-time participants from Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong. Now in its fourteenth year, the 2013 MMER attracted thousands of spectators, who enjoyed the festive atmosphere and cheering on their favorite drivers from around the world.
